OUR STORY!

ABOUT MATUMAINI FOUNDATION

Matumaini Foundation Uganda was founded on 4th May 2024 as a community-based, non-profit organization with one clear purpose: to bring hope and sustainable transformation to vulnerable communities.
“Matumaini” means Hope — and hope is at the center of everything we do.
We were established by committed community members in Nkumba Bufulu, Katabi Town Council, Wakiso District, to address the growing challenges of poverty, limited access to education, food insecurity, and gender inequality affecting children, youth, and women in urban slums and underserved communities.

Our Mission

To empower women, youth, and children through:

Quality education.

Vocational and marketable skills training

Food security initiatives

Women and girls’ empowerment programs

Sustainable community development

We aim to equip individuals not just to survive, but to thrive.

Our Vision

To see transformed lives, empowered communities, and reduced poverty across Kisembi, Entebbe, Wakiso District, and the Kampala Metropolitan slums.
